Accessibility
AgingJunction is built for older adults and their families, so accessibility is a core requirement — not an add-on.
What we do
- Every page works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a skip-to-content link.
- We use large, readable text, strong color contrast, and clear headings on every page.
- Forms use real labels, and error messages are announced to screen readers.
- The site works on mobile phones, tablets, and desktop computers, and respects browser zoom.
- We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 AA as the site grows.
Found a barrier?
On smaller screens, use the Menu button to show navigation links. Press Escape to close the menu and return to its button. Without JavaScript, navigation links stay visible; account tools, program search, and housing submissions still require JavaScript.
If anything on this site is hard to use with your eyes, ears, hands, or assistive technology, please tell us on the contact page. Accessibility reports are treated as high-priority issues and reviewed by the owner.
Ongoing work
Accessibility is never "done." As new features launch, they are tested for keyboard access and screen-reader compatibility before release. Known gaps will be listed here honestly.
